This morning was a perfect relaxing Saturday morning. R and slept in until about 9:30 before making a little breakfast. I cleaned up the house a little while R made some delicious eggs, bacon, and sweet potato hash (<-- my new favorite food!)
After breakfast we stopped by starbucks then headed to Eastern Market to pick up our groceries for the week. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures while we were there, but we did get a lot of goods. We came out with a pork shoulder, thick sliced bacon, cucumbers, strawberries, blue berries, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and bananas for just under $30.00.
On the way home we stopped by Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe, one of Detroit's only gourmet food stores, to check out their selection. I have heard a lot of hype around it's opening, and we finally got around to exploring. (Forgive my amateur cellphone shots of the store.)

Over all I am excited to see this store in midtown. I loved the feel of the place, and they had a lot of the items I regularly pick up. Their selection was somewhat limited, but I definitely see myself coming back here soon.
On the way home from YEBS we saw this and had to stop.

It looks like the Heidelberg Project has spread into Midtown. Rob is always telling me to check it out, but I am holding out for Spring. Pretty weird but unique and interesting at the same time. Well I'm off put away the groceries and start prepping food for the week. I will check back in with an update later. Has anyone seen the Heidelberg Project? What are your thoughts?
